The arts and humanities are flourishing at Stockton, which is good news for students, parents, and the communities in which they live and work. The arts and humanities are not only the heart and soul of the liberal arts, but they provide the skills—innovation, critical thinking, oral and written communication, and complex-problem solving—that employers have identified as most crucial to success in life after college.
The artists and scholars who make up the faculty of the School of Arts and Humanities (ARHU) demonstrate their mastery of these skills through their own increasingly prominent scholarly and creative work and through their teaching. The faculty’s ongoing commitment to pedagogical innovation gives students exciting opportunities to apply what they have learned through exhibitions, performances, presentations, research, internships, and travel.
Make an impact and a gift today by contributing to one of our Arts and Humanities priorities:
Scholarships - ARHU wants to continue to offer scholarships to deserving students who are studying or seeking careers in the fields of Arts and Humanities.
"Stockton is a wonderful liberal arts institution that gives me the amazing opportunity to study everything I am interested in. Whether it be science, dance, or genocide studies, I am so very thankful for everyone who has helped me get to where I am today and who will push me to be even better tomorrow." - Casey Van Newenhizen, Scholarship Recipient & School of Arts & Humanities Student
Program Support - In the recent past, we have brought performing and visual artists from Greece and Japan to Stockton for performances, exhibits, and performances within exhibits. They give our communities a window into other cultures and expand their view of worlds beyond South Jersey. Plus, they are fantastic artistic experiences.
Philanthropic contributions are essential for innovative academic programming and student enrichment opportunities. We offer a wide range of internship and experiential learning opportunities that are designed to build on and expand student-learning experiences outside the classroom setting. These experiences provide a platform where students can expand intellectually and become socially responsible and engaged citizens.
