About Stockton Men’s Soccer

The Men’s Soccer program supports the University mission by providing significant components of the whole-person Stockton education. Stockton student-athletes perform both in the classroom and on the field. The student-athlete graduation rate is higher than that of non-athletes, with 75% having a GPA of at least 3.0. Men’s Soccer athletes represent the dedication and talent that makes Stockton Athletics legendary.

2019-20 Highlights

  • Stockton captured 10 wins (10-6-4 record) and allowed just 16 goals all season, one off the school record of 15 set in 1995. Twenty different players saw action in 10 games or more for head coach Greg Ruttler, with seven playing in all 20 games.
  • Stockton qualified for the NJAC Tournament for the fifth consecutive season, earning the No. 6 seed and reaching the semifinals on penalty kicks after a 0-0 tie with No. 3 seed Rutgers-Camden. Defense was the team's strength, with the Ospreys leading the NJAC in goals against average (0.76) and tying for second in shutouts (9).
  • Five Ospreys received NJAC all-conference honors. Larry Abanilla was voted to the NJAC First Team. John Maxted and James McCombs were selected to the NJAC Second Team. Ervin Gjeli and Dino Gromitsaris rounded out the group with NJAC Honorable Mention recognition. In addition, Christian Bik was chosen to the CoSIDA Academic All-District 2 Team for the second straight year.
